The overall length of the matchless sword reaches 55.6cm with its body measuring 45.6cm and its grid being 5.4cm in width. All the body of the sword is covered by shallow rhombic geometric patterns.Both sides of the sword grids are studded with blue colored glaze and turquoise.In the circular hoop of the sword head.there exist 11 rings of concentric circles,which were cast in an extremely exquisite way. Particularly,there are two lines of inscriptions resembling birds’footprints,which are named as bird script letters by historians. To understand the meaning of the inscriptions was a challenging thing,which showed “the sword is exclusively owned and used by King Gou Jian of the yue State”

Although the sword had lain under the earth for more than 2400 years,it has still kept its original status without losing any power.It will produce a striking flash when it is drawn out from the sword scabbard.Just exerted a little outside force,it can cut through 19 layers of common white paper.

Nearly 2400 years late,this top class of sword has been imitated and reproduced successfully by Xu Guangguo,the sword-casting master in Yingdu Bronze Art Institute of Jingzhou City.It took him as long as 14 years to work on the imitation reproduction work At last.he made vitally important breakthroughs in 5 key technologies,i.e.bird inscription letters,anti-corrosion trcatment proccss,smclt of mctals proportioning,fake proof and tiny carve,cast with high degrees of precision (a combination of ancient ceramics-making process with modern scientific processing methods). His success makes it possible for people to appreciate glamour and beauty of the imitation with high degree of precision.IIis imitation craftsmanship is honored as a miracle in the aspect of high precision of imitation reproduction for ancient bronze wares.

The imitated swords have already been collected by Chinese National Museum,Chinese Military Museum and The Palace Museum in Beijing respectively in the meantime,the imitated sword gained the recognition from experts and scholars.Especially,the most authoritative antique identification expert and the director of Chinese Committee of Antique Idetification,shi shuqing,appreciated and praised the craftsmanship.
